wizzcat xproudly present the a whole lot of nothing demo. it has been
brought to you by qyv x (that's pronounced kive for those in
the know) the rather natty logo was planned, devised, put into planning stages,
organised for it's cinema debut, scanned for the five part mini-series and then
drawn by either rainbow or pixie red devil drew the amazingly cool
font!! special note must go to the mega cool vibes ruffling the
air-flow, written by my good friend and the king of the keyboard the cyborg
(sound of screaming women tearing off their knickers and throwing them on stage)
it's called universe scott is the best amiga musician around (he's been
playing keyboards since he was an embrio be warned when reading this scroll
text 1. the spelling is utter crap 2. i've fixed the bug in the wibble code so
that it doesn't glitch any more (yippee) some words now about me, scott and
this demo both scott and i are new to the group, stiga and i met on the train
home from the shopper show a couple of months ago (back when we were
gene-stealers). as you can probably tell i am a coder, i've been coding for a
while but believe it or not this is the only demo i have ever finished. i've
written lots of code to perform different things but i never seem to bother
much in full blown demos as i get bored very quicky once an idea works i tend
to move onto something else now that i have bothered to finish this demo i am
about to start a personal project for scott. it's a sixteen channel music
editor. the actual multi-voice code and software pitch change necessary is very
easy to perform and i have already written the code (i gave it to stiga sometime
ago) now i've just got the boring bit of writing the actual editor, it's got to
be os friendly of course ! where did i get the name qyv ? well from the deep
and mysterious tombs of a piers anthony book, qyv is actually the largest
pirate organisation in the universe and is based around the moons of jupiter.
scott tells me that a lot of you guys out there have asked him to produce acid
tracks for your demos. i can remember he actually wrote such a track on his korg
m1 once and played it to an acid freak who thought it was too complex !!! says
a lot for acid music doesn't it ??? scott and i personally are into heavy rock
and i love thrash however you have to be careful about thrash as most of the
bands are utter shite. the best being :- anthrax, metallica, testament, megadeth
and tankard. david lee roth is probably the best rock artist and guitarists such
as steve vai, joe satriani and yngwie malmsteen are just totally cool this demo
has been a source of problems to write, originally there was rather a nifty
spectrum analyser playing which used dual playfield, but alas what with the
wibbly sine-scroller it was not to be and it will have to wait for another demo
an interesting problem was the spot lights. basically when the music got
complicated the routine messed up i tracked the problem down to the clear
screen function and found if i increased the size the blitter had to clear the
demo ran perfectly !!! weird or what ?!? i'm going to piss off know cos i've
got to go to work now and when i get back scott and i are going to have a bb gun
fight so adios, keep coding and don't forget drown your bloody dog (or better
still shoot the bastard) bugger the grretings, check out the menu scrolltext
for them
