WTF is this?

I've gotten a bit pissed of the URL pasting competition on Finnish IRC channels, with people constantly crying "wanha" or "w" when someone copypastes an URL they've already seen. So here's a way for compete with our mad URL couriering skillz without having to waste our IRClog quotas with that crap. What's better, you get an actual score telling everybody how cool an URL forwarder you are!

How does it work?

Register, log in, submit fresh URLs. It's as simple as that. You can flood all you want, but beware: if someone has pasted your URL before, it will result in lowering your score. How much lower, it depends on how late you were. But it also works the other way round! When others re-submit an URL you already rushed to the system, you get profit. And if he just barely lost the race to you on a very recent URL, the reward will be huge! So get submitting! Oh, and remember to recruit others to "play" as well, because this is only fun if there are plenty of active users.

How exactly is the score calculated?

Here's how it goes, in addition to the 1 point gained for every new URL:

Your New URLs Submitted by Others:
1 hour +200
24 hours +100
1 week +75
1 month +25
older +5
Old URLs Submitted by You:
1 hour -5
24 hours -25
1 week -75
1 month -100
older -200

I'm too lazy to click CTRL+C, isn't there a clickable Javascript thingy for this?

Thanks to Jope, there is! Just drag this link to your toolbar: W . ..and get clicking! Oh, but remember you have to be logged in.

I don't get it, what am I supposed to submit?

Any URLs you think are hot and current and other people might want to submit as well.

What if I just submit crap, old URLs or made up stuff?

Go right ahead, but it won't result in much gain unless someone else pastes the exact same strings. You get one (1) point for any new URL, but pasting real URLs others want to add too may result in hundreds of points. See above.

Where can I see the submitted URLs?

You can't. It doesn't work like that. You wouldn't want others seeing what you have already submitted so they can avoid increasing your score, would you?

If this is a dominantly Finnish phenomenon, why use English?

Why the hell not? It's teh internets after all.

How about an IRC interface?

A bot would be possible, but would not work too well as you have already seen what others in the same channel have pasted. So if an IRC bot interface is released, it is only practical for messaging URLs in private.

Is there any warranty, privacy guarantee or such?

Yeah right. In the cutthroat world of hardcore URL pasting, you're on your own buddy.
